Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discouragement or depression is real and personal. While separate, the two moods have a definite tie between them. The stages of the discouragement lead naturally to the forming of the depression. While discouragement reflects an attitude of dismay and depression reflects darkness of the soul, both begin with the word distraction. Many are concerned with depression to the neglect of discouragement. Yet to deal with depression before discouragement is like "putting the cart before the horse!" For these reasons, the author believes it is essential to deal first with the subject of discouragement. If discouragement is handled God's way, it will go a long way to divert or stop the path to depression. Discouragement and depression have similar causes and solutions. Moreover, there is "one key operative word" connected with both, which is "response." This book provides insights on the kind of response necessary for handling the force of both subjects. Robert A. Hanson has served as pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Plymouth, Massachusetts for thirty-six years. He also served as senior chaplain for Plymouth County Jail and Correctional Facility for twenty-two years. The Church under his ministry has enjoyed the blessing of seeing a number enter the ministry with ten serving as Pastors. Robert received his education at Providence Barrington Bible College, Talbot Theological Seminary, Los Angeles Theological Seminary, and The Graduate School of Theology in California. Beyond pastoring four churches in New England and California, he has taught in both college and seminary. His travels have taken him to many parts of the world including India as part of an extension-teaching ministry. Robert and his wife Barbara conduct "Straight to the Heart" and "Road to Renewal" conferences in various churches. The Hansons have five children and seventeen grandchildren.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world around me is dark and bitter. I know that my walk is not straight. My veins are sore and broken. My hands tremble, and my head is fogged with misery and death. I’ve lost my hope, my faith, and my way. I’ve been blinded by the darkness; I can’t find the light. Revelation of my iniquity causes tears to well up in my eyes, blurring my vision. But then, something starts to happen with the tears. They begin to purify my sight. I look up at the sky as the clouds start to dissipate, and the sun peaks through with its long warm rays, touching my inner core, building within it the strength of true existence. My veins begin to heal and strengthen; the blood once again flowing through them with courageous life. As I wake up, I am able to see the world around me, the life and the death. The death is like a lethal smog existing within our atmosphere – patiently awaiting its next victim. Whereas, there is a fresh clear rushing waterfall that brings life to all who choose to dwell along it. That is where I found my home, and I will not turn away from it again. “I cried out, ‘I am slipping!’ but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.” – Psalm 94:18, NLT

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An exploration of the teachings made popular by Carlos Castaneda • Offers accessible instructions for Toltec spiritual and mystical practices • Represents the conclusion of an 18-year learning task assigned by don Juan Matus • Includes a new preface for this 10th anniversary edition On the Toltec Path is an overview of the theory, discipline, and practice of the Toltec Way, a philosophy and heightened way of perceiving the world taught by the Indian seer don Juan Matus. As a philosophy, it is a method of inquiry using the Toltec three Rs: re-examination, re-interpretation, and re-formulation. As a way of perceiving the world, it offers sophisticated processes of managing perception through dreaming, visions, and learning to see the world as both ordinary and non-ordinary reality. By contrasting and balancing these two realities we are able to stand apart from both and pick and choose the best each has to offer. Learning how to become a true seer enables us to realize the purpose and meaning of our life. The works of Carlos Castaneda have long been among the best-known introductions for those who wish to study the Toltec Way. However, many who want to learn the practical and technical aspects of this path have found it difficult to discern the details of the techniques buried in Castaneda’s narrative. In this book Ken Eagle Feather provides a complete and accessible explanation of all the technical aspects of the Toltec spiritual and mystical practices. He offers a thorough exploration of Castaneda’s works and a verification of don Juan Matus’s teachings through his own 30 years of personal experiences and observations of the Toltec Way. On the Toltec Path serves as a practical guide to the Toltec Way and offers a valuable complement to the narrative works of Castaneda and other Toltec authors.
